Mentoring is the best shortcut
It’s a random Monday in 2019.
I hear my boss calling me “Igor, come into my office please”. Damn. I am scared. He will fire me.
“Hey, I just got from a call with the Team Lead - when are you going to finish your LWC component?”.
I am relieved, it’s just about the task, not firing me!
“Ahmm, I don’t know… I’ll try to finish it by the end of the week”.
The boss nods. I leave the room and get back on my desk.
The task will take me 1 month to finish. One whole month of struggle, having zero idea what I am doing, many dead ends, and feeling I’ll get fired every day.
It’s been over a year at this company and I still feel like fraud. I am studying at the best university in Germany, have a good salary, and write code every day - but still feel like I have zero skills.
Three months later I resign.
I join a British-German company and within just a few months I am officially promoted to Middle Salesforce Developer.
What changed? I got a mentor.

My Skills
He taught me everything he learned in the last 12 years of Salesforce Development and it was the biggest career jump I could make.
Since that time, whenever I want to learn anything - I am searching for mentors.
P.S. Would you like to work with me 1:1 to learn Apex in more depth?
