- PD1 is useless
PD1 is useless
You are joining a Zoom call with a client.
Client: “We have here invoices that we send our customers.”
Client: “Is it possible to automate that when we click on a button a PDF is autogenerated with our custom fonts there?”
You (sweating): “I don’t know, let me ask the Senior dev and come back to you”
Oops. That wasn’t covered in Platform Developer 1!
But it’s one of the most frequent real-world scenarios.
So why would you spend time doing PD1 if that won’t help you be better at your job?
80% of PD1 is pretty useless for the real world.
And especially it’s useless if you can’t code.
Yes, you can pass the certification without even being able to code.
You just need to memorize a few very outdated topics.
These are the only reasons why I recommend going for PD1
→ Increase your salary
→ Get a new job
→ Make a good LinkedIn post
But in terms of real-world practice, it’s not so relevant
Instead, I suggest to my students the following:
→ Focus on real skills
→ Build real projects
→ Get paid for your coding skills
And only then: Pass Platform Developer 1
Focus on skills. Not on certifications.
And you will win ❤️
